In Viet Nam, single-use plastics remain a pressing issue, with waste infrastructure struggling to keep pace. GRAC, a pioneering climate-tech company, is transforming this challenge into an opportunity by digitizing waste management systems and scaling community-driven circular economy models. GRAC’s mission is to enable data-driven solutions that reduce plastic pollution, empower local stakeholders, and ensure traceability from waste source to recycling.
Smart Green Point Solution for Recycling
One of GRAC’s flagship innovations is the Green Point model—digitally connected recycling hubs that operate in residential, industrial, and commercial areas. As of Q1 2025, GRAC has launched 10 active Green Points in Vietnam, focusing on low-value plastic collection and community engagement.
Through the GRAC App, users can locate nearby recycling points, schedule pickups, and receive instructions on waste separation. The app integrates a rewards system where users earn points for proper sorting, encouraging sustainable behavior and enabling transparent reporting.
The Green Point model is designed for replicability and impact:
306,611 kg of low-value plastic waste collected and digitized in Q1 2025.
Over 20,000 active users engaged through the GRAC App.
Each Green Point collaborates with local collectors and processors to close the loop.
Digital Platform for Local Governments and Collectors
Beyond community outreach, GRAC provides an end-to-end SaaS solution supporting local authorities and waste enterprises. The platform is now used by:
270 local governments (communes and districts)
27 waste collection companies
Over 1 million households and waste generators
The software enables municipalities to digitize their plastic waste flows, enforce source separation regulations, and fulfill Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting requirements.
Capacity Building and Informal Sector Inclusion
GRAC actively engages the informal waste sector, offering training and digital tools to enhance income security and inclusion. In Q1 2025 alone:
29 training sessions conducted
1,885 individuals trained (including collectors, residents, officials)
105 informal collectors supported with health insurance
Integrated Technology Portfolio
In addition to the Green Point model and mobile app, GRAC offers a comprehensive portfolio of digital solutions to support the circular economy:
Traceability Engine: Tracks plastic waste flows from households to recycling plants, providing real-time data for compliance, transparency, and financing mechanisms.
Net Zero Tracker for MSMEs: A new module enabling small businesses to integrate plastic traceability with GHG inventory, streamlining carbon accounting and ESG reporting.
Governance Dashboard: Visualizes waste collection, source separation, and EPR compliance data for local governments and corporate partners to improve planning and decision-making.
Vision for Regional Expansion
By 2025, GRAC plans to scale Green Points across 100 locations in Vietnam, collecting over 3,500 tons of recyclable plastic annually. Looking toward 2030, the goal is to expand to 10,000 Green Points globally, with a target of 400,000 tons of recyclables per year.
GRAC is currently developing a Net Zero tracking module for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to integrate plastic traceability with GHG inventories—advancing the region’s transition to a low-carbon circular economy.
Through innovation, public-private collaboration, and community empowerment, GRAC is shaping the future of sustainable waste management—starting in Vietnam, and reaching far beyond.
