SustainableSG provides consultancy and training services on sustainability, strategy, risk and entrepreneurship. We worked with a company based in Singapore that manufactures plastic bags to develop a closed-loop concept – this involves collecting used plastics from clients, reprocessing into resin, and remanufacturing into plastic bags or packaging that the clients purchase. Less plastic goes to the incinerator or gets exported overseas - with no assurance that any recycling is carried out. This project has a clear chain of custody whereby plastics are recycled locally.
